This sweet, spunky, cuddle loving little bit is five! She is such a source of joy for our family - she has the greatest laugh that is full of excitement - you know the kind where someone throws back their head, their mouth open wide and just fills the room. That is Jillian. Meredith is always saying (through her laughter) "Jillian is always so funny!" And she is right. Not only that, she is just uniquely Jillian. She has a fierce loyalty to the things she loves (Just for a few examples: hippos, chevron, purple, that one pair of boots she has worn every day since about October, her favorite sweater, the list could go on and on!) She also has a very definite opinion on what she will and will not wear and how she will and will not do her hair. Her hair styles seem to come in waves. For awhile it was all headbands (or actually, always the same one singular headband) but now with few exceptions (this picture included) her hair has to be down straight with the part straight down the middle - no curls in the ends or anything. She loves to pour over books and will play all by herself for hours and hours. Her favorite things to play with are any "little" toys - like her doll house, her mousies, little La La Loopsy dolls, Lego Friends. If it is tiny and has a million tinier pieces, complete with its own unique house that will clutter the playroom Jillian will love it (seriously we have about 82 different toy houses because it is what she loves!) She is also smart and kind. She has a big heart for those she loves and even those around her. And she makes friends everywhere she goes - she is just that kind of girl. You just want to be around her. This girl makes my heart full and our family whole. We are so proud of you, Miss Jillian Mae!

Jillian's 5th Birthday Beach Bash
Who says you can't have a swim (or "shwim"if you are Jillian) party in April? She went to a party a few months ago at the indoor pool at the YMCA and she was sold - that is where she would have her party! And picking her "Rainbow Up-Down Up-Down" theme was just about as easy! This party had Jillian written all over it!
Here rainbow (although slightly more pastel than I envisioned it) up-down cookie cakes!
These were her party favors - chevron-ish beach balls with some candy and a glow stick and I found these adorable buckets - all I had to do was past a "Jillian" tag on top of the spot that said "Happy Easter" and we were good to go!
My favorite up-down accessory - sweet Beans in her swim suit! Having a chevron suit was a must!
Ready to sing Happy Birthday!
How cute is this picture of Jillian and her friend, Austin?
Well, maybe not as cute as this one where he put his arm around her while everyone sang!
The birthday girl with her cake!
Look at me! I even put on my chevron (purple, no less!) for the party!
After the party, we went to Birthday Girl's choice of Cici's for dinner and back to our house to open presents with the family!
Uncle Neil even won the girls prizes from the claw machine! He is awesome!
Look at all those presents!
So proud of her new suitcase from Gigi and Papa!

SWAPA Chili Cook-off Time!
One of our favorite events of the year is the Chili cook-off for Daddy's work! He and his team always work super hard on their booth and did a really amazing job this year! But on top of that, we get to spend the day out at Sandy Lake Park riding as many rides as we want!
The first ride we hit up were the swings. Jillian was heartbroken last year when she was too short to join big sis on this ride. So, we were anxious to see what would happen this year....
She is tall enough! She was so excited to ride!!
Look at that joy on her face as she flew through the wind!
We've taken Landon with us every year we have gone and it is always so fun to ride rides with your cousin! This year, Aunt Katie, Uncle Neil and Carter joined in the fun, too!
Pony rides are always a favorite
Bumper cars with my buddy!
Posing at Daddy's booth - they made a whole TSA line but called it TCA (the C for Chili of course!) And the SWAPA workers put on a fun TSA act as people came through their line. They won a prize for their hard work!

The Glow Girls
Meredith and her friends decided to form a group for Talent Show - we got a friend who was a dance teacher to choreograph a fun and easy dance to the song, Glow. And then we covered them in Glow Sticks and added light-up pom poms. The girls did great and had so much fun!
