We started off the day with a present and then went out for our traditional birthday donut breakfast!
Jillian picked out a present to open - a cute hippo that holds a hippo necklace. Perfect for our trip to see her hippos!
Showing off her donut that include pink sprinkles!
Big sis was super excited about this part of the celebration, of course!
Yum!

After we dropped Meredith off school, we made it to the zoo with our friends. Jillian was anxious to see the hippos, so we headed there first (of course we stopped to say hello to a few other animals along the way)
Me and Jilly Bean posing with the hippos. The hippos didn't really cooperate, they were napping under water, but they Jillian would call them and they would occasionally peek their noses out to say hello. I promise she was more excited about them than she is letting on here! :)
I convinced the friends to pose with the elephant for me. Again, they were anxious to go climb on him, not so anxious to smile for me.
Everyone had fun feeding the birds. Hayes even kissed one he was having so much fun.
Jillian loves the penguins!
We, of course, couldn't miss the chance to ride the "neighs"
This birthday girl was very excited to ride the train! Check out her dress - I decided I wanted a "2" shirt, so I planned to add a 2 to a tee, but when I went to buy one, she found this dress and was in love. She pulled it in the basket, telling me it was "cute" and I was sold (it was a great deal, too!)
Jillian loves the longhorns by the train station - much to the annoyance of Hayes (who is a Sooner) and Caleb (who is a Baylor Bear) she kept shouting "Who em Horrrs!"
After the zoo, we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and for dessert, Caleb had made cupcakes!
The rest of the day was filled with a nap and dance class. Then we asked Jillian what she wanted for dinner. All I could get from her was "fries." We chose to go to BJ's for her simply because they have the best birthday dessert! When we tried to get Jillian to order her dinner, she continued to only want "fries." Each thing I would suggest, she would just smile and say "fries?" So after dinner (which of course included fries), we came home to a few more presents before putting our little 2-year-old to bed for the first time!
