Student of the Week

With my lack of blogging lately, I haven't gotten to share how great Kindergarten has been for Miss Meredith!  She has adjusted so fantastically and is loving every day!  She has made some really great new friends and has really learned so much.  No to surprise to us, but she has been doing great both academically and behaviorally.  And to top all that off, the girl loves rewards and luckily, Hill is great about providing those!  Each week, the kids can earn Highlander Bucks to use at the Treasure Chest - each week, she works so hard to try to get the right amount to go to the treasure chest.  She has loved figuring out how many she needs to get each day so that she can get her turn!  One week, she even had enough to make two trips to the treasure chest, and my sweet big sis decided to use one turn to buy her sister a stuffed hippo!

The treasure chest finds - what a sweet girl!

A few weeks into school, they started the Student of the Week program, too.  The principal announces the student of the week over the loud speaker and then the child takes home a yard sign to display for the week.  Once Meredith knew this was something she could have, she was determined to make it happen!  Of course, I kept encouraging her that she was doing great and would get it eventually, but she really wanted it this one particular week!  Luckily, as I watched her come out of her class the beginning of that week, I see her proudly carrying her sign!  And to top it off, her bestie, Hannah, was Student of the Week for her class, too!

So proud of our Student of the Week!
