Ahh, the beginning of fall is beautiful - or in the case of this year in Texas...wet. After what seems like weeks of endless rain, we got a bit more last night, but neither that nor the slightly chilly temperatures could keep us from the pumpkin patch today! We headed out to a great farm that is a bit of a drive for us, but after going last year, we knew it was well worth it. If Meredith hadn't already known what our plans were for today, I might have changed them, but since she was so excited, we decided to go! Plus, Aunt Katie and Landon were joining us, so there was no doubt we would have fun. This year they couldn't run the hayrides because of all the mud and they delayed inflating the bounce houses. Meredith was pretty excited to try them out this year (she was terrified of them last year) until I pointed out all the rain and mud that was caking the floors of them. She decided to pass again. But the kids still loved running through the fields of pumpkins, posing with their favorite cut-out characters and playing on some of the not-as-muddy rides!
Jillian didn't seem to care that the pumpkins were a little wet. What a happy girl!
Meredith was thrilled Hello Kitty was there - but as you can tell, she had already spotted her next favorite - probably Ariel or Dora! Landon loved these too - he was so cute when he saw his top picks, the Backyardigans!
Look at that mud! Luckily her really cool green boots were super easy to clean! My shoes, on the other hand... This is Meredith testing out the seat to see just how wet her bottom might get and deciding if it was worth it. Probably for Meredith it was not!
Landon and Meredith thought the merry-go-round was the greatest thing ever - we could hardly pull them away!
