Mayfest

Today we headed out to Mayfest in Fort Worth so we could cheer Meredith on in her first big dance performance! The girls not only got to do their dance they have been practicing for their Spring recital, but also got to wear their full costume - which Meredith was very excited to do! Before we left, she told me she was a little nervous about dancing for so many people, but you would have never know after she got up there and started dancing - she had the best smile and did a fantastic job! We were definitely proud! Later on she did tell me she expected the stage to be bigger, so maybe she was a little under-whelmed! But hopefully this was a good warm-up for her big recital!

The traffic was terrible near the park where Mayfest was happening and we thought we were going to be late, so Daddy dropped us off- when he finally got to us, Meredith was really glad to see him!
While watching the other girls perform before her, Meredith couldn't help getting up and dancing - and helping Jillian dance too!
Jillian had fun with Papa waiting to watch Meredith.
Meredith waiting to perform - she looks very deep in thought - like she is running through all the moves in her head! Aren't their costumes cute? They are dancing to a song called "Boogie Woogie Bear"
"Here's a little story about a..."
"BEAR!" She loves making her bear face!
In the song a bee comes along, so the girls get to dance with these stuffed bees and then throw them - which is probably Meredith's favorite part!
Look at all those cute little bears!

After dancing, Meredith couldn't wait to go to the tent right next to the stage to get her face painted. She asked to have her whole face look like a puppy and chose to be brown with green patches for eyes.
We were a little concerned that this might freak her out a tad bit, but she really loved her puppy face! And luckily for me, it washed off without much trouble!
On the way out, we headed to the Petting Zoo, and both girls had a blast!
