Science Fair Rocks!

At Meredith's school the pre-k classes all get to do a science fair project.  They are supposed to bring in a collection of anything they would like.  Meredith took this very seriously.  From the moment the project was assigned, she started agonizing over what kind of collection she should have.  To help her decide, she and I spent some time making a list of options, and then she would cross some off as she eliminated them. Finally, we were left with just Rocks, and so, Meredith Ann became an official rock collector!  We started in our yard (where the rocks are plentiful, despite Daddy's best efforts).  Then we started picking them up everywhere we went - the park, the zoo, the museum, school, church - everywhere! We even collected them all over Oklahoma and Missouri on our trip, plus Gigi brought some home to Meredith from her trip to Waco and Austin!  It was quite a collection.  Meredith then covered the inside of a shirt box with tissue paper and decorated the outside.  She and I worked together to glue in the rocks and add labels of where each rock came from.  She was so very excited to show them off the next day and I was so proud of how well she did on the project!
