The popular questions...

Since Jillian was born, we hear a few questions whenever someone meets her:

1) Wow - look at that hair! Did Meredith have that much hair?
2) Do you think she looks like Meredith?

Here are both girls announcement pictures both taken at one week old to help answer those questions..

It is so surreal to have these two little ones who remind us all so much of each other! Bubbie even joked at the hospital that it must be possible to have twins 2 1/2 years apart after seeing how similar they looked! Beyond just their looks, the funniest things to watch are that when Meredith was born, she always loved to tuck her thumb between her fingers and Jillian does it too and they also both are fond of looking at things with what Neal calls "The Hanks Sneer." When both babies started this up, we immediately saw their daddy in them!

I was starting to think that Jillian might be our small baby (since she weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and Meredith weighed 9 lbs when they were born), but we went back to the doctor this week (she was 3 weeks old) and Jillian was up to 9 lbs 10 oz - Meredith's baby book says she weighed 9 lbs 8 oz at 2 1/2 weeks, so it looks like Jillian is doing her best to catch up! I was actually concerned about her weight because she started eating for shorter lengths of time, but it turns out that she gained 11 oz in 6 days (they said they like them to gain a 1/2 an oz a day, so she is obviously an eating champ!) so my concerns are now put to rest.
