Disney on Ice

After a really fun trip to go see Disney on Ice last year, we planned another trip this year and of course, we got to include not only Jillian but also Landon and Uncle Neil. Last year, Meredith was a little scared at the beginning, but slowly warmed up to the show until she was totally enthralled. I was thinking this year we would be past the scared phase, but I was wrong. She had a death-grip on Gigi's hand on the way in and then ended up in tears. I carried her the rest of the way in and tried to calm her down. By the time the first act started, she was more upset than she was even last year. I took her out for one act to try to calm her and we returned against her wishes. Which meant this is what she looked like:
There was no getting her to raise her head or even moving her fingers to let any light into her little eyes!

This was how Meredith "watched" the first few acts. Luckily, the princesses made an appearance fairly early on, and we convinced her that they would be ok to peek at...
So, she looked up, and peeked out from below her hand, but left it right above one eye, so she could quickly hide again if she needed to. As a precaution, she automatically popped her hand back over her eyes as each princess song started to come to a close.
Finally, she was excited enough to remove her hand from her eyes and really got into the show!
Jillian was enthralled by all of the show, she was clapping, singing, waving and just having a great time - and totally oblivious to her sister's fears! Landon loved it all too, so in the end, we really did have a great time and are so glad we went!
